If you are looking for some studies to work through over the summer break, why not have a look at this little e-book available on our publications page.
The story of Joseph has been popularised, particularly through productions such as Joseph and his technicolour dreamcoat. However, the result has been a mythology that is a long way away from the Biblical account. Joseph is not picked on because he is a bit spoilt, his coat is not the cause of his dreams and ability to interpret them. Indeed, the coat gets minimal mention in the account. Most importantly, the priority is not to have any dream.
The true story of Joseph offers us typology as Joseph points us to Christ. It also teaches us about faithfulness in the light of God’s specific and unfailing promises (the dream that matters).
