Next Steps … a further look
If you’ve come to this page, then it probably means that you are seriously considering the claims of Jesus and maybe are ready to trust your life to him.
So what next?
Well a Christian is simply someone who has put their trust in Jesus and asked him to forgive them for all their sin. The Bible says that we are saved from sin when we confess with our mouths and believe in our hearts.
Many people have found it helpful over the years to say a simple prayer along these lines:
Dear God,
Thank you that you created me and love me. I am sorry that I have sinned against you through my thoughts, words and actions. Thank you that you sent Jesus to die and rise for me. Please forgive me for all my wrong doing and cleanse me. I ask that you will come and live in my life and fill me with your Holy Spirit. I seek to live my life in obedience to you for your glory.
Amen.
Christians are not meant to live life in isolation but we become part of God’s big family the church. We would love to link you up with a local church near where you live. There you can
- Be baptised
- Enjoy being part of a community where you will be loved and where you can serve God and others
- Be taught God’s Word
- Share communion together with believers.
It may be that it isn’t possible for you to find a church near to you that you can join with. There may be a variety of reasons why this isn’t possible. Don’t panic. Church isn’t about a building or about huge numbers attending but is as simple as two or three people getting together to speak to God and to listen to God.
