Here’s an update on our plans for Christmas this year. The Government have now confirmed that churches can re-open buildings for public worship regardless of which tier you are in (we opened on Sunday). Although singing remains against guidance in doors, it is now permitted outdoors. This has opened up the possibility of outdoor carols for a number of churches.
So, our Christmas programme at Bearwood Chapel is as follows.
On the 19th December we will have Carols in the Carpark from 4pm (weather permitting). We will decorate the carpark with fairy lights and sing a few carols. There will also be a brief Christmas message and a couple of readings. The aim is that this will coincide with people heading home from the shops in the evening to be able to join us in the carpark or listen as you go past. Social distancing will need to be strictly observed and so we may ask people to move on after joining in a few carols if there are significant numbers wanting to join in.
This year we will run a Christmas Eve Service from 11pm finishing at midnight. This will be at the Chapel building. Join us to listen to carols, readings and a short talk.
Our Christmas Day Family Service will be online this year with Dave and Sarah and no doubt an appearance from Parky and Friends! Join us either on Facebook or Zoom at 10:30am for your favourite carols as we celebrate together.
We are also hosting a New Year’s Eve Watchnight Service online this year. We will be on Zoom and Facebook at 11pm ready to see in the New Year together. This will also be my last service with the Chapel.
