A sixth Sola?

Yesterday I wrote about the “five solas” of the Reformation.  These are things we rely on for specific aspects of our faith and were coined to describe specific challenges the Reformation identified.  Because of this I think that it should be possible to identify other “solas”, so long as we don’t try to get those things to do more than their designed job.

For example, there is a uniqueness to the church. It’s here that we find fellowship and accountability.  What we cannot do is give Scripture’s authority to the Church or make it the source of salvation.

This raises the question about whether there was something that didn’t get the original reformers’ attention.  The sole source of our life, vitality and power in Christ is the Holy Spirit.
