Romans Notes

Coming up in a series this year are my  notes on  the text of Romans. They are exegetical, based on the Greek text (SBLT).  Often at any one time I will be seeking to read a book of the Bible in depth.  This may or may not be a book that we are about to study as a preaching series on in the near future as a church.  Alternatively it may be a book that I’m planning to work through as a Faithroots teaching series.  The aim there is slightly different because I’m aiming to provide teaching and training but not go directly to preaching. However, there may not be a specific plan in mind at all.  I may simply be reading for my own edification.  Indeed, those of us who preach, teach and pastor do well to always start here with no other agenda in mind.

Here I’m sharing with you some first pass notes as I start to work through the book of Romans.  It is likely that this will lead at some point to a full study of the book as part of the Faithroots teaching and training programme.  This would provide resources on Paul and the Epistles to complement my recent work on Jesus and the Gospels,

Watch out for future posts which will be working through passage to passage. No fancy click bait titles, just the passage identified. The notes themselves will not include much by way of theological reflection, application or interaction with commentaries (except where I’ve gone to check out something). Those things will come later. The aim is to offer first past notes to aid exegesis.
