Here’s a letter I wrote to Evangelicals Now about the new Christian college in Oxford. I don’t think it was published.
Dear Editor,
In the recent edition of Evangelicals Now, you refer to the start up of a new college in Oxford which claims a Christian ethos. A further bit of checking raises a number of questions and concerns about this institution. I’ve highlighted these concerns here Checking out a new “Christian” higher education college -is it all as it seems? – Faithroots

Most concerning is the significant link to New St Andrews, Moscow Idaho and therefore to Douglas Wilson and the Federal Vision. It is disappointing that Evangelical Now did not carry out any further investigations and report these specific issues. Douglas Wilson’s theology and approach would raise significant concerns for most Evangelical Christians and I would be concerned as a pastor to see parents and young people making decisions about future education to be fully aware of these issues before making a decision.
A young person who wishes to pursue higher education would be best served by finding an established University with recognised faculty and qualifications. Once at University, their spiritual growth will best be served by joining a faithful local church and seeking to share their faith with their peers. They may also find it encouraging to joni the Christian Union at their University.
Yours Faithfully
