As you know, our exact longer term future is rather up in the air. We’ve been taking time over the last couple of months to listen to options and will now be giving a lot of prayer as we seek discernment on where to follow up. We’ll hopefully be able to share a bit more news in a few weeks time (probably by the end of the January) though a final decision will probably come around Easter time (I hope to write a little bit more about how these kinds of decision-making processes work too).
The plan for next week is simple I’m going to take the week off for a bit of rest and relaxation with a couple of autobiographies and memoirs for company.*
Regular readers will be familiar now with my passion to encourage urban mission and one of the aims of Faithroots is to provide teaching and training resources for those in urban contexts, particularly for those who might not be able to access traditional seminary training. Stuck in Level 4 lockdown and confined to home actually means that I will have plenty of opportunity to follow up on this.
So, coming up, watch out for plenty more articles and studies. I hope to be uploading some more pdf publications to our resources page. In the meantime if you are looking for something to start with I’d encourage you to take a read of these two publications.
Keep an eye out for regular YouTube videos too.
We will be running Faithroots Live from the week after next and this will move to the Faithroots Facebook page. Join us on Wednesday evenings as we finish off Deuteronomy and then start a series on “Where did we come from (The Doctrine of Creation).” I’m also planning a further day time session where we’ll be opening up another book of the Bible.
If you know of other people who might appreciate this teaching and training. Please feel free to share links to Faithroot.com and to our Facebook and YouTube page. I’d also love to hear from you if you are interested in participating in Zoom based workshops and discussions.
* There will be faithroots articles appearing as the more general ones (as opposed to time based opinion responses to current affairs) tend to be scheduled in advance
