It’s reached that time when we tend to look back and review the year that is coming to a close. Over the next few days I’m going to have a look back at the key themes we’ve been picking up on as well as the now traditional top ten of posts. However, Faithroots is primarily not about a blog but about providing training and equipping for urban ministry. So I want to have a look back at how that has been going.
First, I’ve been building up the resources available here on the site. This has included putting together a course on Jesus and the Gospels. This will include an e-book and video resources. We also now have a video course introducing pastoral counseling. One of the big needs is for people who have a grasp of the whole Bible story,, sometimes referred to as Biblical Theology, so one of the things I enjoyed working on the most in 2025 was our Big Story series
Whilst most people access faithroots support and training online, it’s the in person stuff that really excites me. In 2025 I had the opportunity to coach or mentor three people, one here in the West Midlands and two based in the north of England.
Most exciting of all has been working with a few people in our own local church and seeing them get involved in preaching, teaching, pastoral care and Evangelism. These are our potential future elders, church workers and planters.
Please keep praying for the work of encouraging and equipping people for urban ministry and making theological learning accessible to those who wouldn’t benefit from traditional seminary learning.
