I’ve been sharing regular updates on our journey from Bearwood into “something different” over the past 18 months. Now, we’ve moved to Great Barr, this is probably a good time to finally put some flesh on the bones of what that future appears to look like. A bit of background Over the past decade, I’ve… Continue reading New Horizons – a little more detail

How can we persevere in prayer for Ukraine?
As the war in Ukraine continues but also slips down the news headlines, it is easy for us to forget about it or at least to allow it to slip down our prayer priorities. Other things take over the news headlines and we become focused on needs nearer home, some such as aspects of the… Continue reading How can we persevere in prayer for Ukraine?
Please keep praying for Bearwood and Smethwick
Whilst we are moving on and excited about what God has in store with us next, there has been some sadness as we’ve said goodbye to our home and community in Smethwick. We spend 12 years here and grew to love the area. Bearwood and Smethwick will also have a significant place in our hearts.… Continue reading Please keep praying for Bearwood and Smethwick
Goodbye Harvest Road
Well, it’s time to move on. After 12 happy, eventful years, we are leaving the cul-de-sac. It was just before Easter 2010 when we found our house. I’d agreed to join Bearwood Chapel as their pastor. At that stage, we were not sure whether it would be a two or three year contract and Sarah… Continue reading Goodbye Harvest Road
“Talk softly and carry a big stick” – latest thoughts on the Russian- Ukrainian War
Before the Russian invasion of Ukraine I argued that such a move did not fit with Vladimir Putin’s known and declared ambitions. New Horizons – update March 2022
Sarah and I really appreciated the support and encouragement we’ve had from so many since we shared back at the end of 2020 that we were moving on from Bearwood Chapel. I thought it might be helpful to give you a little update on where we are at. I’m hoping to follow up with some… Continue reading New Horizons – update March 2022
Putin’s bluff – a possible silver lining to the dark clouds over Ukraine
On Monday, Russian formally recognised provinces in the east of Ukraine as independent countries. This then was used as a pretext for Russian forces to be invited into those areas as “peace-keepers.” Things don’t look good for Ukraine right now and I’m sure many will be joining in praying for our brothers and sisters there… Continue reading Putin’s bluff – a possible silver lining to the dark clouds over Ukraine
COVID update
Here’s a quick update on where we are on UK COVID data as England prepares for the final lifting of all restrictions. Note that there will still be guidance in place and that Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have different regulations and guidance in place. I’ve stopped providing regular reporting of case data but as… Continue reading COVID update
